Welcome!! My name is Robyn Hamrick and I am Mindful Mentor. I guess this is the place where I tell you a bit about myself! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a focus in Clinical Practice, specializing in work with adults, older adolescents and Supervision. I have been in the mental health field for 12 years and in private practice for the last 6 years. My previous experience includes work in inpatient adolescent programs and in schools.

I received my Undergraduate Degree and Master’s Degree in New York. I came to South Carolina in 2018 and never looked back! I have been a Clinical Social Worker for going on 8 years. I cannot believe how much time has passed since then! It has always been a goal of mine to become a state approved Supervisor because of the strong impact supervisors have had in my career in supporting and developing me into the therapist I am today.

My goal as a Supervisor is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where supervisees can confidently learn, grow and become competent clinicians. One of my strengths is my ability to create strong therapeutic relationships. I utilize a relational approach in supervision as strong supervision starts with a solid foundation and trust within one another. I focus on open communication, empathy, and vulnerability to facilitate learning and professional growth, rather than solely relying on a hierarchal power dynamic where the supervisor holds all the expertise; it is a collaborative effort within the supervisory relationship. In addition to a relational approach, I focus on developmental stages of the supervisee to ensure progression in competence based on experience level. Despite focusing on CBT as my individual practice framework, I want to be open to my supervisees interests in psychotherapy models and explore with them how they plan on utilizing and exploring multiple models in individual practice.

I am so excited to have the opportunity to support and lead upcoming Clinical Social Workers and being able to provide support to those already rocking it in our career! I am very passionate about providing support to Clinicians as this is a difficult field and it’s really easy to get lost and overwhelmed when navigating through the stressors of other people’s lives.
